Robert Easton Stuart was an Edinburgh based painter of whom little is known.
Robert Maule & Son was a famous department store at the West End of Princes Street. It occupied the prominent corner site from 1893 to 1931, and 'Meet me at Maule's' became a common catchphrase. Binn's department store took over in 1931. The building today houses the Johnny Walker whisky experience.
