Shooting Booth, Brittany is an expressionist, almost abstract painting of a traditional fairground shooting gallery. The curtains are pulled back to reveal a black interior, with the targets glinting in the gloom. The whole booth seems to be hovering within an indefinable space

By the mid 1950's Redpath was firmly established as one of Scotland's leading contemporary painters. In 1952 she became the first woman painter to be elected as a Royal Scottish Academician. She travelled extensively throughout Europe during the 1950s. She was a central figure of the Edinburgh School group of artists.
