Title
Noontide, Jovie's Neuk
Description
This captures the pearly light and stillness of a calm sea and sunlit shoreline at midday. The tide is slowly coming in under a clear opalescent afternoon light. A rowing boat lies idly beached, while two boys are playing outstretched on the shore. The handling of the paint is in bold, open brushstrokes, that convey the quality of shimmering light on the surface of the sea, and which are broken only by the dark lines of the distant shore and hills rising beyond.
