Description

An expressive artwork with floating shapes and bright colours. The canvas is spilt by a thick brown inverted L shape. Layered on top of the brown is a yellow formation of colour. To the left of the painting a group of brightly painted stripes float like flower petals. The work is a playful assortment of thick blocks of colour playfully organised across the canvas.

McLean's treatment of paint ranges from delicate washes to thick impasto. Shapes have a narrative of their own with edges and curves, while the colour palette generates atmosphere and depth.
