Description
The view shows a section of tenement housing in the Old Town of Edinburgh. The buildings have many small windows and wooden panelling. There are a couple of dormer windows at rooftop level and washing hangs from laundry poles outside some of the flats to dry.

Skinners Close was situated on the South side of the High Street between Blackfriars Street and South Grays Close. The timber fronted houses as shown in the view extended down the entire West side of the Close. Demolished under the Improvement Act of 1866.
