Title

Milne's [Miln's] Close. The house over the archway has been altered and the turret window removed. The house on the right with shield over the door still stands (1889). Now concealed by new building.

Description

A stone archway leads underneath a block of old tenement housing in Edinburgh. The housing is several stories tall and has lots of small windows. Above the arched walkway a small turreted window projects from the wall of the building. A street lamp is mounted from the near wall.

Milne's Close, Milne's Court and Milne's Entry in the Canongate and High Street of Edinburgh were named after Robert Milne who was seventh of a family of royal Master Masons.
