Excerpt from page - London Road 1814 - "For sale these large premises in Picardy Place possessed by the Commercial Bank of Scotland who have removed to their new house High Street. These premises consist of five stories and contains 25 apartments besides closets. - The front of the buildings is handsome and commands a cheerful pleasant view along the principal access to the town and being at the east end of Picardy place, immediately connected with Leith Walk and nearly opposite to the proposed great London Road, a more eligible situation is not to be found in Edinburgh" .
