This is a photograph from the book 'Origin, nomenclature and location of various houses and streets in Edinburgh'. The Pleasance is a street in Edinburgh. It runs south from the east end of the Cowgate for roughly 1/2 a mile where it becomes St Leonard's Street. The street is home to one of the key venues in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
