Description
Waves batter the coastline and cliffs where three fortified towers stand precariously on the cliff edges. Birds fly over the crashing waves, while in the distance people can be seen standing around the bases of the towers. A boat sails out at sea.

Kinnaird castle was built in 1570 and sold to the Trustees of the Northern Lights in 1787, who turned it into the first lighthouse in Scotland. One of the smaller buildings depicted in this image may be the Wine Tower, which is reputedly haunted.
