Description
The ruins of a large castle sit on top of a grassy hill overlooking an expanse of water and a small bay. On the hill cattle graze, while a group of people walk near the ruins. A small fence circumnavigates the castle. On the shoreline a number of small boats gather and people work.

Item dated to 29th July, 1833.
Built in the late 12th century and now known as Castle Sween, the ruins sit on the banks of Loch Sween in Argyll. It is believed to be one of the earliest stone castles to be built in Scotland.
