Description
A shooting party rests on a grassy hill looking down towards a range of mountains and valleys. A man stands near two saddled, grazing horses, while four dogs watch as one man stands with his gun and another sits on a rock. A road runs around a hill in the distance, while in the valley a river can be seen.

Item is dated 14th September 1800. This was the hunting land of the kings and landed gentry of Scotland until the 18th century. Deer were usually chased on horse-back with the assistance of dogs to catch game.
