St Giles Street is a short street leading off the High Street in Edinburgh, almost opposite St Giles Kirk. It runs north from the High Street initially, then turns sharply west to join Bank Street. The section running north to south was created in 1869-70, destroying Brown's Close, one time residence of John Knox.
