Biography
The landscape painter Thomas Clark was born in Edinburgh in 1820. He first exhibited in the RSA aged just 20, and became an Associate member in 1865. He lived in England for a substantial part of his life, and continued to spend winters there after moving back to Scotland. In England he exhibited at the RA, the British Institute and the Society of British Artists. Well known works include 'A Quiet Morning on Loch Awe' and 'Waiting for the Ferry'. He died in Aberfoyle, Perthshire in 1876.
