Description

The gable end of a partially demolished tenement block exposes normally hidden features. The word 'Tolerance' has been stencilled in black lettering onto the building at ground level. The stark shape of the housing block is pictured against a blue sky and beside the distinctive rocky outline of Arthur's Seat.

Craigmillar is an area of Edinburgh situated roughly a mile south-east of Holyrood Park. The lands previously associated with Craigmillar Castle are now occupied principally by 20th century housing estates. The area is currently undergoing significant change involving the demolition of some of this council housing and regeneration of the area including new housing and community facilities.
