Picture taken on the 8th December 1866.
George M. Watson, of 9 Antigua Street, Edinburgh. He was a teacher of writing, arithmetic and book-keeping at 36 George Street. Mr. Doull also took a portrait of Miss Watson of the same address, who is probably his sister.
David Doull was a professional photographer at 72 Lauriston Place from 1865 - 1867. He was born in Edinburgh in 1831 and was one of the founder members of the Edinburgh Photographic Society in 1861. In 1970 Edinburgh Public Libraries purchased Mr Doull's collection of 319 glass negatives from Mr Frank Seymour, one in a chain of successors to Mr Doull's shop at Lauriston Place.
