Edin [Edinburgh] from the east of St Anthnys [Anthony's] Chapel
Description
A panoramic view of Edinburgh from St Anthony's Chapel in Holyrood park. The buildings of the Old Town stretch between Holyrood Abbey and Edinburgh Castle. The skyline is punctuated by the smoking chimneys of factories, Calton Gaol and the monuments of Calton Hill.

St Anthony's Chapel is perched above St Margaret's Loch on the north side of Arthur's Seat. The building dates from the mid 15th Century. The Chapel's origins are unclear. It is thought to have connections with the Knights Hospitallers of St Anthony in Leith.
