This is the traditional rags to riches fairy tale of Cinderella, as told through pictures by Arthur Rackham.

Cinderella was made to wear rags and work long hard days serving her stepmother and stepsisters. When they leave her behind to attend a Royal Ball, Cinderella's fairy godmother appears. She waves her magic wand, turning Cinderella's ragged dress into a ball gown and a pumpkin and mice into a horse and carriage. The fairy godmother gives Cinderella one important instruction - everything will return to normal at the stroke of midnight, so she must make sure she is back home before then.

At the ball, Cinderella meets the Prince. Forgetting the time, she has to rush away leaving the ball as the clock strikes twelve. Running away, she leaves behind one of her glass slippers. The Prince has fallen in love with Cinderella and promises to find the girl who owns the glass slipper. Every female in the town tries on the slipper, but only one girl fits it perfectly, Cinderella, the servant girl.

Follow Rackham's beautiful silhouette drawings from Cinderella's humble beginnings to her happily-ever-after moment with the Prince.
