Description
A large public house with the name MacPherson above the door stands on the corner of South Richmond Street and the Pleasance, Edinburgh. It has ornate carving around the roof line including a chimney stack bearing the letters DF and columns that support the entrance. Adverts for beer and ale are displayed in the window. On the cobbled street outside stands a group of boys wearing shorts and long socks. They are looking up at another boy who is standing in a window above them.
