Princes Street Gardens
View exhibition items
Princes Street Gardens are situated in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, in the lower ground between the Old and New Towns, and a footfall away from Waverley Station and Princes Street. Landscaped walkways meander amongst flowerbeds and park benches offer a moment of tranquil reflection away from city life.
The pictures show how people have enjoyed the gardens over time and in its variety of guises. The gardens can be a temporary home to skating rinks and merry-go-rounds, a pavement cafe, a concert venue or simply a much-loved green space.
