Cause of Accident/Nature of Accident : Falling in front of 2 wagons of
cement drawn by one horse
Remarks : Right leg severely bruised but no bones broken. Conveyed home to
S. Q'ferry South seen by Dr Hunter.

Cause of Accident/Nature of Accident : Hit in the stomach with jib of
crane and knocked to the bottom of
No. 7 Cantilever Cofferdam.
Remarks : Severely hurt about Back & face. Seen by Dr Hunter who
advised his removal to R. I. Edinr. Case in hands of
J. Reid W. S. Pursuers Agent: D. Hill Murray period Fredk. St. Edinr.
Letter from Dr Hunter on expressing opinion that Dalgleish
would not be able to work for about 12 months.

and dragging him around
Remarks : Arm broken. Seen by Dr. Hunter.
This book was acquired by Museums & Galleries Edinburgh in 2018. It is, as far as we know, the only surviving working document from the earliest stages of construction of the Forth Bridge.
