A man is sitting on the wall of the St Bernard's Bridge over the Water of Leith, Edinburgh. The bridge on Deanhaugh Street is at a crossroads with Hamilton Place, Kerr and Saunders Streets. The Stockbridge Free Church with its square tower can be seen on the left. Street-lamps border the cobblestone road.
