Title
Edinburgh Castle from Princes Street
Description
Edinburgh Castle sits on a rocky outcrop. In the distance behind some trees is a spire. In the middle ground is Princes Street Gardens where the well house tower can be seen. A fence with metal railings separates the gardens from Princes Street. There are men, women and children moving around the the area where a street lamp provides light on the corner of the scene. Many of the women are wearing bonnets, one woman is carrying a closed umbrella while others have parasols. A man is transporting a barrel using a trolley past a dog towards two men on horseback, one of whom is a soldier. There is a horse-drawn carriage carrying two women.
