Excerpt from page "Excise Office 1825 - " The sale by tender by order of the Hon the Commissioners of Excise. The large elegant mansion situated on the East side of St Andrew Square, now occupied as the Excise Office.
The house is finished in a most superior manner and is in the best state of repair. The extent of garden ground laying immediately behind the house is considerable.The whole will be sold in one lot to the highest offerer above £26,000" E.E.C Feb 10 1825.
