Excerpt from page - "Montpelier 1833. To let Montpelier Lodge and garden situated at the head of Bruntsfield Links commanding a delightful prospect - A tenant can also be accommodated with three acres of pasture along with gig house if required all enclosed within the same walls. The situation has even been considered by the faculty one of the most healthy in Scotland as a proof which when the plague raged in Edinburgh and its vicinity in 1667 not a single case was known in this quarter and it has been equally free from cholera since its recent entrance into the county. Apply to Mr James Alison, 51 North Bridge". Edinburgh Evening Courant April 27 1833.
