Renovated interior of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Dalmeny Street - part of the plans for the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the establishment of Catholicism in the Ukraine, in 1988.
This church serves the 700 or so Ukrainians living in Scotland. Future plans include alterations to the sanctuary, placing in front of it an icon-covered screen or iconostas. Stained glass windows will also be introduced.
The Ukrainians still follow the Julian calendar, celebrating Christmas on January 7th.
