Description
If ever a Unit had a Royal send off, we had, & proud indeed were we, that the S.W.H. had been so honoured.

Later in the day, we were all asked to an "at home" given in our honour, by one of the Committee. There, we were addressed by Sir Arthur Stanley - the head of the British Red X. He said he was present, on behalf of the War Office "to wish us good luck & a safe return". He laid on the butter thick, as to the former doings of the Unit & we had campaigners' feet "twice as tall" by the time he had finished speaking!! Various other people talked & bid us adieu & a "safe return" & good luck to the Unit. May indeed all their wishes come true & the Unit come safely through whatever lies before it.

What a noise! Another air-raid. They got the Chelsea Pensioners' Barracks last night, - a lucky hit -, little wonder we thought them directly over-head, seeing we're on the "direct route". Fiends! Must away to a farewell supper to a few of the "Old Brigade" - so I foresee a merry night of it & I foresee yet further - breakfast at 5.30 a.m & farewell to Blighty once again!
