A tall tenement building stands on the corner of the Pleasance, Edinburgh. A butcher displays his wares in the shop window of no.171 and next door at no.167 is M. Kennedy, Wine & spirit merchant. Stone houses stand on top of the shops with many windows. Several wooden washing lines can be seen hanging out of the windows as well as a couple of children.
