The Corner Bar with its barrel-shaped frontage stands at the junction of Lothian Street and Potterrow, Edinburgh. A group of men and boys are posing outside it. One of the men is wearing a dark coloured apron and is perhaps the bar owner. Further up the street are a newsagents and confectioner's shop. Houses occupy the upper floors of the building. The tenement is topped with a long chimney stack and dormer window.
