The Harmonium Project
was a free outdoor performance which took place on the evening of Friday 7th August to mark the opening of the 2015 Edinburgh International Festival and the 50th anniversary of the Edinburgh Festival Chorus. The sound and light show was created by 59 Productions and the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Design Informatics. It combined John Adams's choral work Harmonium with a series of spectacular animations, which were projected onto the outside of the Usher Hall.
It's estimated that up to 19,000 people crowded into Festival Square and took over Lothian Road to watch the spectacle.
