Description
The image of the police officers is in situ at the rear of Musselburgh Town Hall where the police station was until the late 1930s. The arches are to the rear of the Shush Mahal restaurant now. Musselburgh was part of Midlothian Constabulary until the 1950s when it became Lothian and Peebles Constabulary then in 1975 part of another merger with Edinburgh City to become Lothian and Borders. Musselburgh became part of East Lothian in 1975.This photo on display at Haddington Police Station, the county station along with other photos which all had the names of all the officers displayed as well as individually numbered Police issue sabres.
