1970s - Five Decades of Toys (1950 - 2000)
This exhibition highlights some of the most popular toys and games of the 1970s.

The 1970s saw a major rise in the trend for toy spin-offs from films and television. Important examples were Star Wars, Dr Who, Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angels and The Wombles. Television programmes led to an even greater interest in the world of popular music and the lives of celebrities. Teenage magazines like Look-In and Jackie magazine for girls became increasingly popular.

Take a look at more must-have toys from the 20th Century with our 'Five Decades of Toys' exhibitions showcasing iconic children's games and toys from the Fifties, Sixties, Eighties and Nineties.
