Morningside Station, opened in 1884 as part of the South Suburban Railway. It was built opposite the toll-house at the southern end of Morningside. The South Suburban Railway closed in 1962.

Morningside is a residential district in the south of Edinburgh. It lies to the south of Bruntsfield and the west of the Grange and Blackford Hill.
