A small exhibition of images looking at various types of housing. The pictures mostly feature Edinburgh, but also include cottages on Iona, terraced houses in the Borders and bungalows in America. Tenements, tower blocks and thatched cottages can be seen as well as council houses, closes and castles.

The images were created between 1820 and 2008 and present a perspective of how people lived in the past and in the present. As well as photographs, watercolours are represented which allow us to glimpse what Edinburgh looked like prior to the invention of photography.
